Not as tuff as I thought I was

Crap, I need to get in shape. Today was the Physical Capacity Exam for my new job. I did pass, but it kicked my butt. I don’t want to relive the pain so I’m not going to go in to details. I can tell you that it’s a good thing my kids are on the heavy side and I have lots of experience carrying them up and down stairs, lol.


I’ve also put on some weight recently, and I’m sure that did not help. I’m hoping this new job will be physically demanding enough to help me lose weight but not enough to kill me.

I know it’s not the schools fault but the government, I guess I’m irritated at them more. I’m not even going to get in to a big long post, but I am going to vent on one thing. My daughter is lactose intolerant. I know this because she gets a stomach ache every time she drinks milk or eats dairy. We are on reduced lunch right now and with lunch they serve milk, they can pick from 3 kinds of milk. My daughter asked me to write her a note asking for the lunch lady to give her juice instead of Milk. Seems like a simple thing to do, right? Wrong, I get a call from the school saying that I need a note from the doctor before they can sub juice for milk; otherwise we have to pay extra for the juice because it’s not part of the regular menu. Apparently the Fed Government says they have to include milk in the price of the school lunch but not juices. They are only subsidized for the milk not the juice and that’s why it costs extra. I remember getting the choice of juice or milk in school; I think our kids should get the same. I guess she can just drink out of the water fountain.

I think we might start packing lunches anyway. That way I can control what she eats, not the school.

OMG I’m out of Coffee!!

I’m trying not to freak out but I have no coffee anywhere in my house and I don’t drive so I can’t just hop in the car to go get any. Coffee is my morning ritual, it’s my sanity, coffee is not a want, it’s a need. I wake up, pour some coffee, I check my emails, drink some coffee, check the message boards, drink some coffee, check the blog world, drink some coffee. This morning I will have to settle for Tea. At least it’s Chai and I can live with it, but it’s NOT coffee. “sigh”

On a happy note school starts tomorrow, for my 9 year old. She will be in first grade. However I’ve been on the phone with the school about my 5 year olds class placement. She’s going in to Kindergarten this year but they don’t do all day, the only do ½ day class so your kid is either in AM pr PM class. I thought they where going to place my kid in AM due to where I live but they placed her in PM due to where my daycare is, but my daycare needs her to be AM so it’s a mess. I hate to call and bother the school, but I have to get this figured out.
