Wiiiiiiiiiii........

Aww yeah, we got a Wii. We have been wanting a Nintendo Wii for a while now. I really like how the games get you moving and not just pushing buttons. So last night we went shopping for one. However we (my hubby and I) wanted the game RockBand 2. Well no one seemed to have the Rock band bundle with the drums, guitar and microphone. I was totally confused because the stores had it for the xbox and ps3, but not the wii. One clerk tried to say it was not a popular game for the wii that’s why they did not have them. I did not belive him. We looked at walmart. I could buy the game, drums and guitar but they had no microphones for the wii at all. So we finally went to Best Buy. There I learned that Rock Band 2 does not come out for the Wii until Dec 17 (my b-day)…but they did have the Rock Band 1 bundle for the Wii….we bought it!! It’s so much fun! We have been playing it all day, well the kids and the husband ( mostly the husband) have been. I’ve been folding laundry all day…it had to be done, trust me. Anyway, it was too much money to spend especially seeing as we are so very, very broke, but it’s the only thing we are buying for the girls for x-mass so we wanted to get it while we could. I think we may need to take out a pay day loan for rent but oh well, we have a Wii

It could be worse

It’s hard times right now for most American families. With layoffs and business closers, it’s hard for some to keep and find work. The price of gas the last few years really hurt, not only because it was expensive to buy gas, but also because it made prices on everything else skyrocket. We are seeing banks fail. Did you know manufacturers are cutting down on the size of the items we buy but keeping the prices the same? So with al the doom and gloom and even though we are behind on a lot of our bills right now, I have to try to stay positive. I know GOD is with us, and I know he will take care of us. It may not be in the fashion we are used to, but we will not starve.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[a]? Matthew 6:25-27

Coupon Madness

I’ve been reading a lot of blogs about couponing. I’ve never been good at using coupons but I’ve been inspired to give it a try. I bought a binder on ebay and have set up a system for coupons. Today was the first day I tested it out. I went to Albertsons and I spent a total of $93.82, but I saved $71.56, I’m very exited about that! Here’s some of the deals I got:

Buy a Tyson Heat N Eat dish (I got bourbon Beef) $7.49
Buy a Country Crook Sides $5.49 w/.50 off PC =4.99
And Buy a Fresh Express salad kit $4.49 w/ .50 off PC= 3.99
Then use the $5.00 off meal deal coupon
On the Country Crook the was a coupon for $1.00 store packaged meat (ground beef was on sale for $1.99 a lb so I was about to use the cpn on that)
Plus I had a .55 off cpn for the Tyson Heat N Eat.
Retail Total $17.47, total after cpn, $10.92 (plus I got the coupon for $1.00 off the meat)

They also had a deal where you buy one Sara Lee Pie for $6.39, then you get one pie free PLUS two free Breyers Ice Cream. So retail on that $25.56, but I paid $6.39

I used some other coupons too, but nothing too big.

The horrors of Dial-Up

I am going crazy!! First I was with out internet service for about 3 days. I paid the bill online but I guess either I did not hit “submit” or they screwed up on their end because they did not take the money out of my checking so they shut us off. By the time I figured it out it was time to pay rent so I did not have extra money to pay the internet bill. I’ve tried not to care about the internet but my husband is starting his own construction business and has got a lot of clients off of craigslist so we need the net. My husband remembered years ago his friend told him about a dial up # that was free to use, but he could not remember the # and could not get a hold of the friend except by email. Arrggghhhh. I searched on my cell phone using the internet on it (hope I don’t get charged an arm and a leg) I found some free dial up numbers for the Seattle area (we live in Washington) but those #s are long distance for us and we do not have unlimited long distance on the phone. Lol. So we did use that number for a few days until today when my husbands’ friend gave us the local free dial up number. Whew… So now at least we have the internet but it’s so slow!!!! But at least it’s free right??

Halloween Pictures

We went trick o' treating in my ex-husbands neighborhood so that our daughter could be with both of us. I forgot my camera but he had one so here are a few pictures.

This is me as the zombie construction worker, Emma and Lily as witches.

Crystal is a Spider Queen.

This is a pic of all the kids that we went around with.
It was a good night and not too cold. We walked around for about an hour in a very done up neighborhood. Lots of fun, I even went in a haunted house. I screamed, lol.
