By now you should have head about mineral makeup and I bet many of you have tried it. I personally love mineral makeup and use it everyday. The brand I use varies from time to time. I started out with a well known brand and have used a few smaller brands. Recently I received two shades of mineral makeup from Mineral Secrets. “Mineral Secrets' mineral makeup is a light, non-shiny cosmetic. Originally designed for people with highly sensitive skin types, Mineral Secrets makeup does not irritate skin conditions like rosacea, acne or post laser skin. Mineral Secrets' botanical and aromatherapy enriched mineral bases not only conceal redness, uneven skin tone and blemishes all day long, but will actually improve your skin's overall look and feel with the first application!”
When I read that I was very excited to try the makeup. I have very red rosy cheese which I suspect is a mild form of rosacea, and I find a lot of products irritate my skin. Plus I just don’t like the look of all the red in my face, and to make matters worse I have fair skin so covering the red with out looking cakey has been a problem.
I first put on the color Sugar Cookie; it’s a great light all over color. I then put the color Sand on all my red spots, it’s got more yellow in it and yellow is good for covering redness. After I buffed it all in the Luscious Kabuki Brush (it really is luscious btw) I stood back and looked at my self. Let me tell you, I looked good, really good. The redness was toned down and looked more even. Instead of looking like a tomato I looked like I had a natural rosy glow with out having to use blush (sorry I know we can’t all go with out blush, but I can) I liked that I did not look cakey at all. I just looked fresh, glowing and natural. Also there was no dryness or itching like with other mineral makeup brands I have tried. I did not even put any moisturizer on before I applied the makeup. (However I do use a lot of night cream and my face was still hydrated from the night. I use Avon btw)
So if you are looking to look fabb I suggest giving Mineral Secrets a try. You can buy starter kits from them and if you don’t know your shades give their experts a call and they will be happy to help!
