Ruined and lost

….my makeup that is. In the last five years or so I have been kind of a makeup snob, not to bad, but more so than anyone I know. I don’t buy drugstore makeup. I’ve only been buying highend brands like MAC, Fresh, Bare Minerals, ect. I will spend around $25 for a Lip Gloss or Mascara. Now that’s not the worst part. This is where I have a problem, my kids. Yes like all good little girls they want to be just like mom and wear makeup. They constantly get in to my stash. I have repeatedly told them stay out. I even got them their own, but still they find mine. My little ones have ruined or lost so much of my good stuff that I’m temped to switch to less expensive brands. Well at least for some things. I still have to have a good foundation and Lip Gloss.

Review & Giveaway! Estee Lauders Nutritious Vita-Mineral Makeup

In case I haven’t told you I’m a makeup junkie. I love makeup, but I don’t like looking “made up”. Foundation is especially hard for me to buy the right kind. Lately I have been using mineral makeup but it can be drying at times. I also don’t care for the look of powder. I was very excited to receive a Liquid foundation from Estee Lauders new Nutritious Vita-Mineral Makeup Collection. (It also comes in powder form)

The Nutritious Vita-Mineral Makeup is formulated with Pomegranate extract containing Vitamins C and E as well as Iron, Potassium and Magnesium to give the skin a healthy glow and vibrancy.

I’m not going to bore you with the rest of press release information they gave me. I want to tell you how I feel about the Nutritious Vita-Mineral Makeup. I really like it! It went on smooth and light. It gave my skin a luminous glow. The coverage is light and the color matches my skin tone perfectly and it gives me a “you only better” look. It’s stayed on all day and still looks as good as when I put it on. This is definitely worth trying. I have pictures to prove it.

Baby Carriers a Must Have for New Moms

While I was carrying my 4 year old I couldn’t help but to think of when she was a small easy to carry baby! I always hated carrying around their bulky heavy car seats/ baby carriers. Instead I carried them around in a front pack (or soft pack) or a sling. With my first baby I only had a front pack carrier and it worked but was hell on my back. With my second baby I got a hip carrier and it was cool when my baby was older but not so good when she was a newborn. Then with my third baby I had a sling, it was awesome but not adjustable and I’m not sure I had the right size!

If I had a baby now I know what baby carrier I would get this time, I would get a Wrap style like the EllaRoo Wrap  from La Stella Blu.

Wraps:
A wraparound carrier, or wrap, is the simplest baby carrier. It is a long piece of fabric that is used to tie the baby to you. It has been used across the globe in many cultures because of the versatility and simplicity. Wraps are one of the most comfortable baby carriers for you and your baby. There are hundreds of ways to wrap your baby, so there is a carry style for everyone. Weight is evenly distributed across your shoulder, back and waist.

La Stella Blu has many different styles of baby carriers including Wraps, Soft Packs, Pouches (slings). They also have baby clothes and natural toys.

And the Winner is.........

Saving Money is my New Years Resolution!

I’ve been hesitant to make a blog post about New Years Resolutions. They never stick so what’s the point? This year is oddly different. I do have a big one; to save money! In the past money has been a evil thing, when ever I have it I want to spend it. Shopping makes me feel better. While I can’t give up shopping, I can resolve to spend less and get more! It started a few months ago reading blogs about coupons and how to get things for free or next to nothing. I’ve tried coupons before but never seemed to save anything and the coupons where always for things I never buy.

Well all that has changed! I have a small index card holder and set up envelopes to hold the coupons. Right now I have them by category but I think I’m going to change that to alphabetical by brand name. I have been buying Sunday papers, printing coupons of the net, getting coupons by mail, I even have my kids grab all the coupons they find in the blinkie machines at the stores for me.

So yesterday I sat for most of the morning matching up coupons to my Albertson sales add. They had some awesome deals and I was lucky enough to have a coupon for almost every deal that I wanted to buy! I’m not going to go in to every deal but I’ll give you a few.

Buy 8 Rice-A-Roni for $10 and get $5 off any fresh Meat. I bought 9 boxes and used two coupons good for $1 off each, then got a big beef roast that was on sale and saved the $5, made the roast cost $1 and some change.

My DH likes to cook hamburger helpers on the nights that I’m in school, so I had a competitor’s coupon good for 10 helpers for $10. Plus I used 3 coupons good for .80 off of 3 so the total spent on each box was like $0.76

The helpers and Rice-a-Ronis where part of a deal where if you bought $30 worth of participating products you got coupons good for $15 off your next trip.

I got a ton of other deals including a free Reynolds Wrap and almost free toothpaste.

I ended up saving 18.17 from Bonus Buys, 71.89 from preferred savings (Albertsons card), 23.65 from manufactured coupons, 15.51 from store coupons and 6 from Albertsons matching coupons. For a grand total of $135.22 Saved! Plus I got back 3 Catalina’s good for $5 each and one good for $3 plus a new coupon good for $1 off pop tarts and one good for $1.5 of cereal. So really I saved more like $153.22. Out of Pocket (oop) I spent $99.64.

New Giveaway!

I’m bored and a giveaway sounded fun. Since I have a few extra Cookiee Lee pieces lying around from when I tried to sell it. I figured a beautiful spring necklace to help get over the winter blues would be lovely!

It has genuine shell, and is 42" long. It can be worn long or doubled.

So do you want to know how to win???

It’s easy just leave me a comment on this post. If you want even more chances of winning just mention this giveaway on your blog or subscribe to this bolg. Let me know if you’ve done either of those and you will get 2 extra entries for each activity. Cool Huh? The contest will run until January 17st and is only open to residents of the U.S.
Good Luck!

My Grocery Trip Today

I think I did pretty good, seeing as my hubby, 3 kids and 2 dog where waiting in the truck for me. I still took longer than my DH would have liked but oh well. I went to my local Albertsons because the had Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, Raisin Brain and Rice Crispys small size for $1.59 a box, and I have lots of $1 off coupons for Kellogg’s. Wouldn’t you know it by the time I got there they only had the Rice Crispys left? Well I still got 2 boxes @ $0.59 each and I picked up 2 boxes of Kellogg’s Special K (one blueberry, one cinnamon pecan) I had 2 $1 off coupons making them $1.50 each.

I also picked up the Olive Oil at a great price. It was normally $8.39 on sale for $4.99 plus I had a $1 off coupon.

Then I had a money maker deal as well, (my first one ever!) I had two coupons for $1.50 off any size Kotex. The pantyliners where 10 for $10 (or $1 each) so I got two and used my coupons so they owed me a dollar! (of course they just took it off my bill, but it was still a cool feeling, lol)

So in total for all that you see pictured (including the paper, I hear there are a ton of coupons in it this week) plus a gallon of milk (it was on sale for $2.00), I only paid $32.59, but get this, my savings totaled $36.25. I saved more than I spent! Whooo. I must say I’m super happy!

New Year = New Hairdo?

I guess I’ll start with a Happy New Year to you! We’ve all been sick this week so hubby and I had no plans last night. I ended up going out with some girlfriends to go see Joan Jett and the Emerald Queen Casino. She still rocks!! So this morning while the hubby and I where laying in bed the girls where out in the living room watching tv. (I know, bad mom for using the tv as a babysitter, let’s get over it ok?) Well while the kids where being good and quite my 4 year old Lily was giving her self a new hair cut. (Damn tv was not doing it’s job! lol)

Her hair was as long as the hair in the back. She only cut the sides. At least she did not cut above her ears
