Review: Mineral Secrets

By now you should have head about mineral makeup and I bet many of you have tried it. I personally love mineral makeup and use it everyday. The brand I use varies from time to time. I started out with a well known brand and have used a few smaller brands. Recently I received two shades of mineral makeup from Mineral Secrets.

“Mineral Secrets' mineral makeup is a light, non-shiny cosmetic. Originally designed for people with highly sensitive skin types, Mineral Secrets makeup does not irritate skin conditions like rosacea, acne or post laser skin. Mineral Secrets' botanical and aromatherapy enriched mineral bases not only conceal redness, uneven skin tone and blemishes all day long, but will actually improve your skin's overall look and feel with the first application!”

When I read that I was very excited to try the makeup. I have very red rosy cheese which I suspect is a mild form of rosacea, and I find a lot of products irritate my skin. Plus I just don’t like the look of all the red in my face, and to make matters worse I have fair skin so covering the red with out looking cakey has been a problem.

I first put on the color Sugar Cookie; it’s a great light all over color. I then put the color Sand on all my red spots, it’s got more yellow in it and yellow is good for covering redness. After I buffed it all in the Luscious Kabuki Brush (it really is luscious btw) I stood back and looked at my self. Let me tell you, I looked good, really good. The redness was toned down and looked more even. Instead of looking like a tomato I looked like I had a natural rosy glow with out having to use blush (sorry I know we can’t all go with out blush, but I can) I liked that I did not look cakey at all. I just looked fresh, glowing and natural. Also there was no dryness or itching like with other mineral makeup brands I have tried. I did not even put any moisturizer on before I applied the makeup. (However I do use a lot of night cream and my face was still hydrated from the night. I use Avon btw)

So if you are looking to look fabb I suggest giving Mineral Secrets a try. You can buy starter kits from them and if you don’t know your shades give their experts a call and they will be happy to help!

A million things I must do this weekend.

Really, I can think of almost a million things I need to do this weekend before going back to work on Monday. (Makes me almost miss staying at home)
I have a ton of homework to do.
My apt is really, truly, a disgusting place to be in right now. I kid you not. I could spend a week cleaning and still not be happy with it.
I want to create my new blog template. I have a really cute idea for a new header.
I would like to work on my beauty blog
I have a few reviews I need to do for this blog.
I need to play with my kids
I have to dye my hair
Must go grocery shopping
Play Avatar: the last Airbender, on the Wii, (I know it’s a kids game, but it’s totally fun!)
Take the dogs for a walk
And the list could go on but I think I’m wasting valuable time here, lol.

Really Cool Product Alert: The M coat

I remember when I had my first baby. I was pregnant in the winter and my mom wanted to buy me a coat that would be warm and big enough to grow with my ever expanding tummy. I ended up getting a nice coat but it really was too big for me.

Now that I’m not having anymore kids (at least I don’t think I am) I keep finding the neatest things like The M coat. Let me tell you with pictures what this coat is and why it’s so cool.

Do you get it?......ok here are the instructions

“In the latter months of pregnancy, zip the panel into the front in an “A” fashion, with the tie on the inside. You may adjust this tie according to your comfort level”

“With your infant in a frontal carrier (baby can be facing in or out), zip the panel in a “V” fashion, with the tie on the outside. You can adjust this tie to comfortably cover the baby”

“Worn without the panel, the fabulous M Coat converts easily back into a regular fitting, stylish, everyday winter coat. Perfect for the everyday busy life of a hip and happening Mama!”

You can visit the M coat main site at themcoat.com and buy it online at upmama.com

Am I doing the Right Thing??

As if just being a mom was not hard enough, I have been working full time and going to class after work twice a week since September. I'm also considering trying for an apprenticeship next year. If I do that I will be locked in to working and going to school for the next 3 to 4 years. The school will be during the day and I will get paid for it but I will have hours of homework and I will be stressed out. However when I’m done with the schooling I will be making around $25 an hour, I could work my way up to that with out the schooling but it would take longer. I honestly miss being at home but I know God put me in this job and I’m pretty sure he is leading me to try for the apprenticeship. So I know if God wants me to do it then it’s the right thing for sure, but I just wish life was easier.
