I've always thought the neatest thing would to be able to talk to my computer and have it type out what I say. As it turns out technology has advanced to the point where that dream is becoming a reality. A few months ago I bought a new computer with Microsoft Vista, I also bought a software program that was speech recognition, so that I could do just that, talk and have it type for me. As it turns out I got the product home, after looking at it and seeing that was OK for Microsoft Vista to put it in. Then a window said is not compatible with Microsoft Vista 64. Well crap and that's what I have, vista 64, so I spent almost a hundred bucks on a product that I can't return. I see it's good for Windows XP. I can't do that because the disk is a DVD rom disk not a CD-ROM my computer does not have a DVD rom. So months go by, I'm surfing the web is usual looking at the voice recognition software thinking there may be a free one I can download. I still have the headset. I find out that Microsoft Vista has that program or a program like it already built in. How cool is that. So now I've looked in my computer found the program,. Seems pretty easy. I talk in headset and words come upon the screen. The only problem with it is that it doesn't know my voice yet. So I can sit here and talk to it, but it doesn't recognize every word I say, but the more talk to it and the more it correct it, the better it knows my voice. I already did my homework using it today it took a little while but I got it done. And now I figure I test it out for my blog here and see what I can get it to do. Already as I talk I can see many things, that I have to correct, course you don't see them as by now, it's already been corrected. (at least I think I got them all)
PS. I wouldn't ask this program out while drinking. Slurred speech does not equal good voice recognition. Although I've only had two shots of Amaretto, and I think I did pretty good. lol
